Sarah Becker was born on November 3, 1971. She is a graduate of Indiana University.
Career in the Comic Book Industry
After graduating from college, Becker worked as an editor for the comic book company WildStorm Productions in La Jolla, California. During her tenure, she contributed to the comic book industry.
Reality TV Fame on ‘The Real World: Miami’
Becker became part of MTV’s “The Real World: Miami” 1996 at 25. The reality series features a group of young adults from varied backgrounds living together as roommates for a few months. She gained a reputation for her enthusiasm for skateboarding. In Episode 13, she brings home a puppy, Leroy.
Personal Life and Interests
Becker said she was a “19-year-old in a 25-year-old body.” She liked skateboarding, collecting Swatch watches, and dressing up as TV characters.
Transition to Therapy and Coaching
Following her stint on a reality TV show, Becker received a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Santa Barbara. She then got a license as a marriage and family therapist and life coach, counseling people about relationships, self-esteem, trauma, and PTSD.
Later Years and Family Commitments
Becker moved to Illinois in 2023 to care for her ailing mother and sister. After fulfilling her family obligations, she hoped to return to California.
Struggles with Mental Health and Passing
Becker struggled with mental health issues that were aggravated by a skateboarding accident. She died by suicide in June 2024 at her Illinois home; she was 52.

Former castmates and friends fondly remembered Becker as a generous and kind-hearted person. Flora Alekseyeun, her “Real World” co-star, said she was deeply saddened, adding that Becker was always helpful.
