C.J. Stroud is an American football quarterback best known for his prolific career at Ohio State University. Stroud, known for his strong arm, calm demeanor in the pocket, and high football intelligence, rose rapidly to become one of the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Houston Texans picked him and has since continued to build on his positive reputation. That swift ascent through college football has made Stroud a focal point for the future of the NFL. But his success has been mainly due to his parents, Kimberly and Coleridge Bernard Stroud III. Read on to find out about C.J. Stroud’s Parents.
Kimberly and Coleridge married in 1997 and had four children: Isaiah, Asmar, Ciara, and C.J. However, Kimberly filed for divorce in 2012.
C.J.’s Father: Coleridge Bernard Stroud III
Coleridge, a former pastor, influenced C.J.’s Christian faith and helped spark his son’s interest in football. Coleridge and Kimberly built a church called Life Application Christian Center in their hometown of Rancho Cucamonga, where Coleridge served as pastor. He was sentenced to 38 years in prison when C.J. was 13, a punishment that had a profound impact on the quarterback.
Coleridge was convicted of carjacking, kidnapping, robbery, and misdemeanor sexual battery in connection with a drug-related incident. He is eligible for parole in 2040.
C.J.’s mother: Kimberly Stroud
C.J.’s mother, Kimberly Stroud, has played a significant role in his life. After Kimberly and Coleridge separated in 2012, she became a single mother and supported her children by working as a property manager at a storage facility. Her imprint is visible in C.J.’s maturity and concentration on and off the field.
The Stroud family created the C.J. Stroud Foundation in November 2023. Kimberly is president of the organization, and although C.J. wanted to name the foundation “The Stroud Family Foundation,” she persuaded him to use his name instead.
