The early 2000s saw a heyday for Disney Channel, and so many incredible shows came out of those years that generation has since lived its life by. One standout show was “Lizzie McGuire,” which shaped the hearts of many young viewers. The series starred Hilary Duff as the title character, who adventures through middle school and high school while trying to deal with teen popularity. It remains beloved today by fans, but here’s what the cast is up to now. Now, let’s see what they’ve been up to after the series ended.
Hilary Duff: Lizzie McGuire
Hilary Duff just turned herself into the lovable Lizzie. When the series concluded, Duff moved on from television to movies, starring in films such as “A Cinderella Story” and “Cheaper by the Dozen.” She also had a successful career in music, recording several commercially released albums. In the years following, she returned to TV with “Younger” (2015-2021), a popular comedy-drama series that wrapped its hit run after seven seasons later this year. Duff is now a mum of three and flogging her acting career, most recently for starring in “How I Met Your Father,” a spin-off of the popular sitcom.
Adam Lamberg: David “Gordo” Gordon
Adam Lamberg starred as Gordo, Lizzie’s best friend who was equal parts loyal and ridiculous. Gordo is a character that has been branded into people’s brains, but Lamberg branched out after the show. He dropped out of Hollywood entirely and began pursuing academic studies. Lamberg studied at UC Berkeley, afterward going to work in New York with the Irish Arts Center. While he mainly stayed out of the spotlight, fans were excited to learn that he would return as himself for a scheduled reboot of Lizzie McGuire. However, the reboot was canceled in January 2020 after Disney+ announced that season two would not be happening any longer, leaving fans to forever pine for a glimpse at an older Gordo.
Lalaine: Miranda Sanchez
Miranda, Lizzie’s bold and daring friend, added an edge to her bunch. Lalaine did some acting post-show and even tried her hand at music. Following her departure, she released solo music for a while before taking some time off from both acting and the world of pop. Since those days, Lalaine has led an under-the-radar lifestyle and generally kept herself out of the spotlight. But she makes the occasional reunion with her former cast members, sparking nostalgia for all that time Missandei was part of a perfect trio.
Jake Thomas: Matt McGuire
Jake Thomas played Matt- Lizzie’s naughty little brother who is always up to shenanigans and a running joke. Thomas Kept On Acting After “Lizzie McGuire”. He went on to appear in TV shows like CSI and Without a Trace. He later followed his passion for photojournalism and worked as a professional photographer/cinematographer. Nowadays Thomas works on both sides of the camera, still keeping in touch with his fans today.
Hallie Todd: Jo McGuire
Hallie Todd brought warmth and humor to the role of Lizzie’s doting, sometimes overprotective mother, Jo McGuire. Following the show, Todd appeared in acting, but she also went into screenwriting and producing. Todd owns a family production company with her husband and daughter called InHouse Media (producing independent films). Todd is still in the game, although she has essentially walked away from mainstream-picture Hollywood.
Robert Carradine: Sam McGuire
Lizzie’s lovable but often clueless father, Sam, was Robert Carradine. A member of the Carradine acting family, he had a long career before Lizzie McGuire, having appeared in projects such as Revenge of the Nerds. Following the series, Carradine worked in several film and television roles. A near-death car crash in 2015 nearly ended his career, but today, Carradine is still acting and keeping busy in Hollywood.
Ashlie Brillault : Kate Sanders
Kate Sanders (played by Ashlie Brillault): The mean, former friend of Lizzie. After Lizzie McGuire, Brillault went on to do acting but ended up leaving the business. She went to law school and is now a criminal defense attorney focusing on social justice. Brillault may not be in the entertainment space anymore, but fans respect her for the fact that she is toiling hard to create a better community.
Clayton Snyder: Ethan Craft
Clayton Snyder was the adorable but dim Ethan Craft, who Lizzie and Miranda were always fawning over. Following Lizzie McGuire, he took a break from acting to focus on his studies and sports (he even played water polo at Pepperdine University). Snyder eventually went on to act in some indie movies and was later featured in a couple of web series. Now, he juggles acting with a career in real estate and continues to stay under the radar but is always highly approachable on social media.
Even though the Lizzie McGuire cast has since gone their separate ways, they will always have a particular spot in fans’ hearts. To a lot of people, these actors will always be remembered for their iconic roles in one of the most remarkable series ever to air.
