Chelsea Kilgore, aka Chelsea Redick, was born May 12, 1987, in Florida. She graduated from Martin County High School with a bachelor’s degree in communicative disorders and a master’s in speech pathology from the University of Central Florida. Chelsea is a Pilates instructor and a registered real estate salesperson in New York.
Meeting JJ Redick
Chelsea met JJ Redick in 2008 during his early years with the Orlando Magic. The couple were married in June 2010 in Palm Beach, Florida, where Chelsea’s parents lived.
Family Life
The Redicks have two sons, Knox, born in August 2014, and Kai, born in August 2016. JJ frequently posts family content online, praising Chelsea and their kids. In August 2023, he shared a tribute to Knox for his birthday, noting the joy of coaching his son’s basketball ambitions.
Supporting JJ’s Career
Chelsea has been a constant support throughout JJ’s NBA career and coaching career. JJ knows how important she is to him, saying she’s the best mom to their kids and also his best friend. He carefully avoids overextending himself professionally at the expense of his family, following the rule that “a happy wife is a happy life.”
Life in Brooklyn
In 2017, the Redick family moved to Brooklyn, New York, near Chelsea’s twin sister, Kylee. This move enabled them to fortify family ties and create a nurturing habitat for their kids. JJ and Chelsea enjoy spending time together and post much of their family life on social media.
Chelsea’s Private Nature
Chelsea is often quiet about her private life despite her husband’s public career. Her Instagram bio describes her as a “Twin, Mommy, Pilates instructor, wifey,” reflecting a much less glamorous but perhaps family-oriented life. She prefers not to be in the spotlight and lets JJ post glimpses of their life together.
JJ’s Tribute to Chelsea
On their 10th wedding anniversary in June 2020, JJ posted on Instagram, “Ten years married today. Happy Anniversary, Chelsea. The last ten years of my life have been the best. Thank you for your love, friendship, and being the best mom to Knox and ….’
